Had two days of trips. The first to the island of Kefkada. A lovely capital town and I took a small sketchbook and watercolour. Painted the town scene in a beach bar later. The second trip was to the Necromanteon or the gates of Hades. Then onto the Acheron River and gorge where we walked in the river where Achilles was dipped to make him immortal. Trouble was his mum didn’t dip all of him in as she held him by the foot. We dipped ourselves right in!

This watercolour sketch is a view down the road from the excellent Johnny’s bar. This seems to be the place where the Brits congregate for a sneaky beer at night… And day for that matter. Sketched on a double page of my Moleskine Sketchbook.

Drawing people is one thing I find particularly difficult. But a cooler day saw us down at the harbour capturing a few people shots. Practice makes perfect I suppose! And paintings with no people in them lack something. Onward and upwards.

This watercolour shows the path to the excellent Olive Oil museum in Parga. We visited last year and the tour and tasting are great. They sell wonderful oil and I bought a Parga sketchbook there as well.

I also tried to capture the birds outside the balcony this morning.
