Just had to paint a portrait of Humphrey Bogart to compliment my Lauren Bacall painting. This was again done in the Artrage app and with the Sensu Brush. The line work and fine detail was done with the Adonit Jot Classic stylus.
Really enjoying these black and white paintings and I can feel a series of screen legends coming on.

Not done a monochrome portrait for a while and this was a joy to paint. The reference photo was taken from the Internet and the painting done on the iPad in Atrage. I did the brush work with the excellent Sensu Brush and the line work was achieved with my cheap but very nice to use Adonit Jot Classic stylus. I am finding the Jot a great tool for line work. I must admit to finding it a bit strange to work with at first, the tap tapping on the screen drove me mad. I just don’t notice it now. Not sure what everyone around me thinks. 🙂

Haven’t done a silly self portrait for a few weeks so here is the latest. This was painted on the iPad in the Artrage app. I used a jot classic for the line work and my Sensu Brush for the painting.

I really enjoyed this one and it did turn out a good likeness. Something nice about painting yourself. Less pressure than getting it wrong on someone else’s face!

Things have been a bit busy of late and art has been taking a bit of a back seat as I travel all over the country. I have posted an older picture though to keep things rolling and to make me get the stylus back out and paint.

This was done over a year ago, but it still makes me smile when I look at her.

Trying to get an accurate representation of chrome on this painting. This was done from a reference image taken from the Internet. I used Artrage for this and did the fine line work with my new jot classis stylus and the colour work with my Sensu brush.
This is becoming my favourite combination. I was a bit unsure about the jot at first, but after a short while it became quite natural painting on glass with a small plastic disc. Just need to make sure the screen is clean before every painting or drawing session.

I was asked recently to paint a portrait of a recently deceased but much loved pet. I love painting dogs and the reference photo was great. This painting is the result.
This was painted in the Artrage App and I am very happy with the result.

The second part of my face painted in Artrage. Just wondering what this lot would be like as a collage. Mouth next then an ear I reckon before trying to put them together. Should be fun.

I like painting eyes, and this is an iPad painting of one of mine.
This was painted in the Artrage app and with my Sensu brush.
Not much mo to be said really 🙂

Another iPad painting from my trip to the church two evenings ago. Whilst we had 2 hours in the building to paint its features, there were more opportunities not to be missed. I therefore took a few photos with the intent of painting them later.
This was painted in the Artrage App with the Sensu brush. My aim was to try and get a watercolour pen and wash feeling to the painting. I am quite happy with the result and feel I am now starting to get more of a grip with the Artrage watercolour brush.

At my art class last night we were panting in church. I did three watercolours which can be seen in the previous post. However I did take lots of photos so I had a reference for iPad painting later.
This is the first of those paintings, done in Artrage and with the Sensu Brush.
